Hi Jan
Ok more progress

I have got it to auto send the emails with both pdfs.
The error still appears on teh front end at the time of confirming the order, but after the emails have been sent the page can be refreshed and the confirmation message is displayed.

NOW...

I have just noticed that there is no currency symbol shown on the invoice at all.
It is set to show only in the summary but it is not showing.

The default symbol is the gbp £, where in vm can I verify that the correct symbol is being used?

I am curious as to whether this is a character error.
i.e. £ or £ or ALT156 or £

Maybe this is the issue £

I have tried changing the symbol in both vm and vminvoice using the replacement but they all fail.
What is it about get instance which is causing the issue.
I have no problems with changing the code to get to the root of this.

more info...

I have now discovered that the front end order confirmation page will appear on a refresh as soon as the order has been received in vminvoice. Until the order has been collected the error message stays in place.
Once the order is in the invoices list the pdfs are generated and sent out correctly.

I see that the poster of
Multiple curren gives http500 err malformed header
is having similar issues with this too.

I can confirm that turning off registration in vm does not solve my issue

OK I give up

What in invoicehtml.php would cause the whole thing to break until the order arrives in vminvoice invoices?

I have tried to alter 
$this->currency = &CurrencyDisplay::getInstance();


But this only creates errors with all the instances where

$this->currency->getFullValue


is called.

What should the value of 
$this->currency = &CurrencyDisplay::getInstance();
be?
Maybe I can try hardcoding this to see if solves it?

Can you please tell me the process of vminvoice?
I am trying to get to the bottom of this asap.

When does invoicehtml.php get called?
What is the matter with getinstance?
Why is the currency bit failing?
What is it looking for?
Can the relevant call not be connected due to some lack of code in the head?

Please let me know.
