Joomsef does not show the Virtuemart category names correct in the URL.

I created some extra modules that give visitors extra information about the shown Virtuemart category. Since the categories are not correct in the URL my visitors now see the wrong addional info about the category they are viewing. Very confusing and it leads to less sales.

Please solve this.

Could you be more specific please? What exactly is the problem with the category names? Could you post some examples of wrong SEF URLs and corresponding Real URLs found in Manage SEF URLs page? Could you post a link to your website where this problem can be seen? Has the problem occured after the upgrade of JoomSEF or VirtueMart? What version of VirtueMart do you use?

I will try to be more specific.

The problem occurred after uipgrading to 3.7.0. Or maybe the last joomsef Viruemart upgrade. I can't recall. Thjey where close after eachother.

I use Virtuemart 1.1.5 on joomle 1.5.20

At the left is the menubar for the Virtuemartshop
The menubar follows the categorystructure of the shop.
As an example click 'Architecture'.
The category Architecture will be shown. Everything's OK until now. The shown URL is: www.artlantisobjects.com/architecture/architecture. The word architecture is shown twice in the URL. I don't know if hat is correct.
At the top of the page you see an image with lots of CDs. That is correct.
Now click one of the 2 categories on the page. Let's take 'illumination'
The categorie 'Illumination' opens......but the image with the CDs is replaced with a text ( another module) This text is meant to be shown only above the categories 'Artlantis Software and 'Artlantis Media'. If you look at the URL you see that the wrong category is shown: www.artlantisobjects.com/artlantis-media/illumination. Illumination is NOT a subcategory of artlantis-media but it is a subcategory of 'Architecture'

So the URL shows a wrong category structure and as a result the wrong modules are shown at the top of the page. Reading that text gives my clients the impression only Dutch users can buy the products on that page. That is wrong information and it costs sales.

This is a typical problem with incorrect Itemid. Unfortunately, there's not much JoomSEF can do about this. You see, the first part of the URL is the menu title, that's why the architecture is present twice in the URL - the first is for the menu item and the second is for the actual category. Since you have the VM extension set to use only last category in the URL, the URL to illumination www.artlantisobjects.com/artlantis-media/illumination uses the artlantis-media for the menu item and the illumination for the category name. The problem is, that for some reason, this URL uses wrong Itemid, that's why JoomSEF uses artlantis-media instead of architecture in the URL.
Unfortunately, when I tried to disable the SEF URLs completely on your website just for a few seconds, there was the same problem present, which means that it is not caused by JoomSEF, but that VirtueMart uses the wrong Itemid in the URLs.
I've found something about this problem at: vm-expert.com/virtuemart-expert-blog/62-...-menu-for-virtuemart - you may try their suggested fix. You can also contact VM developers, or you can purchase our support time and we could be probably able to fix it for you.
