TOPIC: Button Plugin

Re:Button Plugin 15 years, 3 months ago #8091

Doh! I'm an idiot and it has been a while since I've messed with this! Install this component

Attachment com_linkdoc.zip not found

- it creates the content for the popup window...

If you edit administrator/components/com_linkdoc/views/process/tmpl/default.php you can really make the popup show anything you want...

Re:Button Plugin or JCE editor plugin 15 years, 3 months ago #8107

I am desperately seeking for a link plugin/button... sorry, i don´t understand the previous post!? Can you explain if there is a working editor extens button, please.

What about the JCE Docman plugin... can this easily be turned into a JoomDoc version... Does joomdoc only use different tables in the DB?

TIA!!!

Rex - there are 2 zipped files in these postings. The first is a plugin that adds a "button" to the bottom of your editor window. Pushing this button calls the component in the second zip (which is why the 404 was happening - it wasn't installed).

Once you have the component installed, you should get a list of all your files in the DocMAN 2 component and it should create a link to them. That being said, it would be very easy to edit the file mentioned in the last post to basically create a link to whatever you wanted - you have to understand joomla a bit and know some SQL, but other than that, it can be used as a "template" for other buttons...

However, if you need just a DocMan 2 link ,then this should be ok for any editor. - don't forget to publish the plugin tho...

The reason I did it this way is b/c I need a quick n dirty hack and trying to figure out how to get a JCE button seemed like way more work...

Hi,
we plan to introduce the JCE plugin as well. It has been available for Joomla 1.0, so we also want to port it.
But it can take a while. If there is anyone willing to contribute this, it is of course welcome.

Some of the previous posts are missing (Jan--the link to the previous page of posts doesn't appear to work for me). The conversation had dhefly offering a plug-in for an editor button extension asking for testers. I downloaded the plugin, but when clicking on the new button the popup complained that it couldn't find a necessary component. Dhefly has now provided the necessary component (which resolves the prior issue, but see my reply to that post for further resolution)

The component fixed the popup content problem, but there remains at least one more issue. The link that gets inserted into the article is referencing the com_docman_2 component (e.g.: index.php?option=com_docman_2&task=doc_download&gid=36). It seems that is should instead use com_joomdoc. I'm looking through your code to see how I can alter the link construction, but you may be faster and may also want to fix it for future use/distribution. Another minor issue is that the button that gets created on the editor page (I'm using JCE 1.5.4) doesn't fully render (the right 20% or so gets clipped).
