Right, I'm coming across an issue with the product page, as despite changing the settings in the Virtuemart product side, I can't seem to get the quantity field to appear. When activated on the back-end, the quantity field appears momentarily during page load, but then quickly disappears. I'm also noticing that the menu effect is getting corrupted on the page, so I'm suspecting a javascript conflict of some sort.

Our template for the site is a RocketTheme template for Joomla 1.5, and it uses Mootools 1.2.5. Are there issues regarding Mootools or certain Mootools scripts with VM or e-Tickets scripts?

Dear,

the quantity field isn't displayed when the product price isn't set correctly for the customer's group. Please, check the eTicket settings set the "Default Shopper Group", save it and set the product price.
Other reason could be the JS conflict. I can't help you when I don't know the conflict and your page configuration. It could be caused by many things.

One thing I noticed with the quantity box is that it doesn't disappear when the Recently Viewed Products section isn't active (as you've not viewed any other products), the quantity box remains visible even after page load. However, the moment the Recently View Products list starts loading, the quantity box disappears. To me, this is suggesting a conflict somewhere, but I'm having issues tracking it down as the Chrome developer tools console doesn't seem to be showing anything except a Mootools issue regarding the menu. Nothing is said about the rest of the javascript on the page.

Dear,

If I understand correctly, you have some module on the page, that makes you problems and the add to cart form disappear. If there is some JS errors on the page, it could stop all the scripts fn the page, so the problem could be anywhere. You can try some other browsers like Mozzila or Opera to check the Js error. Different browsers usually display different error messages. It could help you to find, where the problem is. You can also disable page modules, to find, in which one is the problem (if any).

Hi,

I've been trying to tweak things, from virtuemart theme configurations, switching theme templates and changing theme options, removing modules from the page, switching off various plugins that use their own scripts, using different browsers, and in every different config and tweak, I've been unable to get the quantity box to display. Only when javascript is completely disabled from working on a page, does it remain visible after page load.

Checking javascript execution step by step through Opera yielded no clues as to a potential error occuring, so I'm thinking what is occurring is an intended effect, but I can't find where I can modify that effect appropriately, because setting the "display quantity box" in the product display options doesn't have any effect. I get different displays (text box, drop-down box, etc), but they all keep disappearing.

I might have to work around this with the shopping process, but a quantity box would be good to have as a usability feature.

Dear,

The product detail page (flypage) that displays the ticket detail is just modified VM default flypage with some modifications to display the ticket attributes correctly.
In some cases the virtuemart don't display the product add to cart form (e.g. the product price isn't set for current customer group). You might try to switch the category flypage to the default of VM and check, if the error remains there.
You can also try to display some example VM products (or created through VM) to test, if the add to cart doesn't display too.
If the problem is really caused by JS error, I'm not able help you now, because I have too little information. We can try to solve your problem as a support. To do it, please, contact our managers.
