TOPIC: Joomla 1.5.5 & Artio SEF 3.1.2 Does Not Work

Joomla 1.5.5 & Artio SEF 3.1.2 Does Not Work 16 years, 4 months ago #4553

I'm using the following:
RHEL 4
Joomla 1.5.5 (also tried this on 1.5.3 with the same problem)
Joomla Theme: Evolution from YooTheme
Artio JoomSEF v3.1.2
PHP 4.4.4 (more info at interactiveonline.com/test.php)

I am able to install Artio but when I enable it all pages show some sort of code over the page. A screenshot is at interactiveonline.com/artio_error.png

My .htaccess file is enabled and I am positive it is available on the server since I'm root. Also I have used the older version of Artio within Joomla 1.0.13 without any problems on this same server.

Within Joomla's global configuration I have under SEO Settings both "Search Engine Friendly URLs" & "Use Apache mod_rewrite" set to Yes.

Here's the contents of my .htaccess file.

Any ideas as to how I can get this working?

I even tried using the default Joomla 1.5 template but access the site shows the site but also this error:

string(164) "INSERT INTO `#__redirection` (`oldurl`, `newurl`, `Itemid`) VALUES ('frontpage/rss.html', 'index.php?option=com_content&format=feed&type=rss&view=frontpage', '118')" string(166) "INSERT INTO `#__redirection` (`oldurl`, `newurl`, `Itemid`) VALUES ('frontpage/atom.html', 'index.php?option=com_content&format=feed&type=atom&view=frontpage', '118')"

Hello,

This means that JoomSEF was not able to run these SQL queries on the database. Please, try uninstalling JoomSEF, manually deleting the jos_redirection table from your database, and installing JoomSEF again.

That fixed it! Thank you!

Another problem I was hoping you could help me with....

It appears my 404 page is not working correctly. When someone types in an incorrect URL I want them to at least see the joomla wrapper. In fact I would rather have them see the homepage so i changed the settings 404 to Frontpage but it returns a 404 page that doesn't look correct. Try an incorrect url such as interactiveonline.com/nothing/

Any ideas?

Hello,

This 404 page is the default Joomla's 404 page indicating that the requested URL could not be processed correctly. JoomSEF is probably trying to show the page that does not exist, which is strange if it tries to display the frontpage.
We would probably need to test this behaviour directly on your server, unfortunately we cannot offer you a free support for this. You can buy our support time at http://www.artio.net/en/eshop/support-services.
