TOPIC: Incorrect SEF urls.

Incorrect SEF urls. 10 years, 3 months ago #45376

Hello.

I'm using Joomla 2.5 + JoomSEF 4.5.2 + VirtueMart 2
I have a next big problem.
I have Home page (Itemid=125) and Shop page (Itemid=121).
On Home page I show latest added products from VirtueMart. Original urls, with sef disabled, looks like this one:
mysite.com/index.php?option=com_virtuema...id=51&Itemid=121
as you can see Itemid=121 this is Shop.
And my sef url must looks like:
mysite.com/shop/tripods-monopods/manfrot...0x3-3-section-tripod

but, with enabled sef, in JoomSEF->Manage SEF URLs I see next:
SEF URL is mysite.com/home/tripods-monopods/manfrot...0x3-3-section-tripod
REAL URL is mysite.com/index.php?option=com_virtuema...id=51&Itemid=125
as you can see Itemid=125 this is Home.

Why JoomSEF creates incorrect sef urls and how can I fix this?
Of course I can edit this urls from admin panel but this is not good idea because I can add a lot of products and I must edit all this urls.
Please help me with this big problem.

Thanks.

Hi,

By default JoomSEF stores the first URL it encounters, so somewhere on your website the URL is generated with incorrect Itemid and is stored first.
The simple solution if you always use Itemid 121 for your shop, is to open VirtueMart extension parameters in JoomSEF and on the Common tab set:
Itemid handling: Override
Override Itemid: 121

Then delete the URLs with incorrect Itemid from JoomSEF's URLs Manager and clear caches. Next time the URLs should be created with correct Itemid.
