Hello,

we just install the 4.2.6 version of JoomSEF (because it is compatible with Falang).
When we enable the "System Language - ARTIO JoomSEF", and disable the "System - Language Filter", we have a error on the screen :


Apparently, this error come from the module "FaLang Language Switcher"...
And if the "System - Language Filter" is enabled, if we press the button to change the languages, nothing changes...

So what can we do to fix this ?

PS : and a second little question : how to remove the "index.php" from the url ?

Hi,
Make sure that "System - Language Filter" plugin is disabled, then go to JoomSEF's Configuration and on the Language tab make sure that JoomSEF Language management is enabled. Also make sure that you use the latest version of FaLang.
You can remove the "index.php" from URLs by enabling the "Use URL rewriting" option in Joomla's Global configuration in the SEO Settings section.

I have a similar problem and tried the process above written in this thread.
For me it does not work.

Using J! 2.5.4, FaLang 1.1.3 and JoomSEF 4.2.6 free (while testing).

Joomla language plugin is turned OFF.
FaLang is configured.
JoomSEF is enabled, JoomSEF language management is ON, main language is English (UK).
Website is not online yet, so I test it with a subdomain.

When I deactivate JomSEF and turn J! language plugin ON, language switching works fine - thanks to FaLang, SEF urls (off course) don't.
By deactivating J! language plugin and turning JoomSEF ON, the system seems to run crazy. Language change via flags does not work. English urls have the german "/de/" url-part, and so on.

Does anybody have an idea?

Please make sure that the System - ARTIO JoomSEF plugin is ordered as the first, before the FaLang plugin. Please let me know if it helps.
Also make sure that after enabling and configuring everything, you delete already created SEF URLs using JoomSEF's URLs Manager and clear the Joomla and JoomSEF cache, so the URLs can be generated with current settings.

I duplicated it for developing open requirements at dev.officepanorama.com

I checked your details without success.
Plugin ordering as demanded, purched sef urls, deleted cache in JoomSEF and J!
I'm in talk with FaLang guy, too. He has account details for support.

Any ideas left?
