In the footer of my VM Invoices I am currently showing my company address.

I am encountering a problem relating to my County though.

Currently instead of showing my county (Greater London) in the UK it shows "Santa Cruz de Tenerife"

Why is this happening?

I actually would prefer to hide this field altogether. How can I achieve this?

Do you have actual version of VM Invoice?
You can also check VirtueMart -> Shop -> Additional Information if you set your address there. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is probably default region for VirtueMart.

I have checked the Additional Information and couldn't find Santa Cruz de Tenerife there.
But what you mentioned about the default setting helped me solve the problem...
I disabled the virtuemart_state_id from my registration form so it must have been still set to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
I renabled it, changed it to England and then disabled it again and now my footer shows England instead of Santa Cruz de Tenerife - which is obviously much better.
I don't want to show England though in my address (it already shows United Kingdom so is not necessary).
How can I hide this field in the footer altogether? Thanks!

In fact, also, is it possible to turn off the grey box with the contact information (i.e. address + URL).
I can see how to turn it off in the header... but not at the bottom?

You can modify invoice template in:
VM Invoice -> Invoice COnfiguration -> Invoice Template

There is tag {extra_fields}. If you remove it, grey box should disappear.

You should be able to modify your address via Invoice Template too. You can remove tag {contact} and write there your contact address. But before it try to check this setting:
VM Invoice -> Invoice Configuration -> tab Invoice Configuration -> Address Format

There is also UK format, so maybe it will help you without changes of template.
