when i enable standard joomla sef features, everything is ok.
when i enable the artio joomsef, i still have content visible, but the whole make-up of the theme is gone?

Such problems are usually caused by wrong base tag. In JoomSEF's configuration on the Advanced tab set "Set page base href value" option to "No - disable generation of base href".

I am afraid this does not help, can it be a chmod issue somewhere

Does this happen on all the pages, or only some of them (frontpage, only some link..)? Is it possible for me to see the problem myself?

Sure, i even paid to get an instaaltion done /configurated, but did not yet hear st about that .

I found out in the meantime that most of the issues had to do with compression, built in in the template I use.

Disabling the compression will allow the artio component to work for the most part.
However there are still issues:

when you scroll down on www.4-Fitness.be/Jasocial you will see a white space in left hand corner.

When you go to another part of the site, the horizontal nvagation bar will get blue as will another horizontal bar to, more onthe end of the page.

I probably don't quite understand the problem, I don't see any white space in left hand corner, and I don't know what you mean by the horizontal navigation bar.

As regards the installation, could you post your order number?
