Hi,

I'm having JoomSEF+VirtueMart extension installed.

I have the following problem:

At managing Url's page, I have the following line:

en/your-face index.php?option=com_virtuemart&TreeId=1&category_id=10&lang=en&page=shop.browse

If I am on the page
www.mywebpage.xxx/en/your-face, I get a 404 error

If I'll replace en/your-face with the longer address, and access the page

www.mywebpage.xxx/ index.php?option=com_virtuemart&TreeId=1&category_id=10&lang=en&page=shop.browse

everything works fine.

Can you point any solution to me, or where should I look for the problem, etc

p.s. i double/triple checked and there is no duplicate for en/your-face

Tnx for your time,
Kind regards,
Paul

Hello Paul,

did you also check in 301 redirects, whether the /en/your-face does not get redirected somewhere? (also check in .htaccess or other places, where redirections could be defined)

Otherwise, if the original URL works and the SEO URL is unique and seems to be stored correctly I see no reason why it should generate 404 error (except if rediret exists as mentioned above).
Also I am wondering, where the TreeId variable in the URL comes from? - are you using some VM add-on or customization?

Hi!
Thanks for your reply. The "TreeId" is a variable I had to put so I can have control over some features.

It seems like I have a lot of 301 redirects, and I guess that there's the problem. Can you point me to any documentation about the 301 redirects, or how to get rid of them?

Simply choose the ones that are not valid anymore and remove them. (check the checkbox and click "delete")

It seems like I have found the problem, but with no solutions:

I use for the main menu a module ninja simple icons, in order to simply use images for as menu items. Joomsef somehow uses Main Menu's items (No items except the "default" Home in my case, as I use another module) by default, and I can't change that from the administrator part, and I guess I have to hack some code.

You would help me a lot if you can tell me where in the php files the Main Menu is selected so I can change it to another menu (ninja simple icons), or maybe a way to go around the Main Menu...

All my links look like:

http://[...]/en/Home/Sun-Care
http://[...]/en/Home/Face-Care
http://[...]/en/Home/Body-Care

The "Home" is the only item I have in the main menu, and the SunCare, Fac eCare are the categories from VirtueMart linked by simple menu icons module.

So, any ideas would be greatly apiciated.

Tnx

In the extension settings, check the option "do not use menu titles". Then, "home" item in URL will be skipped.
