Hi,

I have the latest edition of Joomla and of Artio JoomSEF.

I enabled joomsef_metabot.php and my site crashed with the error message "Direct Access to this location is not allowed." This was the only change made on the site immediately before the crash. How do I fix this?

there might be conflict with some other component.
Make sure the JoomSEF plugin is ordered as first of all system plugins.
If you are using JoomFish, refer to FAQs for possible issues.

Please, be more specific about on what URL this happends, and what is its original (non-SEO) appearance.

Forgot to reply to this until I had another problem - which I will post separately.

After I asked this question I installed a site backup and everything seemed to be working fine until I installed the last update or Artio JoomSEF. The current order of the sef related plugins is:

System Artio JoomSEF
Artio JoomSEF Metabot
System-SEF

Is that correct? And, am I missing a plugin?

Hello,

the plugin is installed automatically together with main component, as the component cannot work without it.
You just need to make sure the /plugin and /plugin/system directories are writeable to make sure JoomSEF will be installed correctly.

System Artio JoomSEF
Artio JoomSEF Metabot
?

There should be just 1 plugin in Plugin Manager (system plugins) called
"System - ARTIO JoomSEF".
Plugin "System - SEF" and all other system plugins should be ordered behind.

So, I somehow managed to have the Artio JoomSEF Metabot installed within the system plugins - I have no idea how I managed that. Do I just delete it from that location?

I have no idea how that could happen, unless you have installed it separatelly.
Or unless there went something wrong during update.

In such case, I recommend uninstalling it normally (as any other plugin).
Furthermore, I would recommend reinstalling JoomSEF. Just go to JoomSEF Control Panel, click Upgrade and do Upgrade from file using the latest installation package.
