TOPIC: New site hosted but keep getting 404 page.

New site hosted but keep getting 404 page. 15 years ago #9433

my site just hosted with a company using virtual IIS web server but my site is still using PHP. I am no expert and not sure how they setup. But when my site hosted with them, I got every page in 404 error except the main page. I have everything enabled in my joomla backend except the apache mod_rewrite and I checked out the troubleshoot page and change my .htaccess accordingly.

It seems the problem is on the web server. What should I ask them to help me setup? What settings does the web server need to enable to get it working? Please HELP....

Hello,
installation on IIS may be quite demanding. You need a special rewrite add-on similar to mod_rewrite in Apache.

If you are not expert, then you should ask your admins to assist you with the ISAPI Rewrite module for IIS setup and configuration. The basic hints are given in Documentation - Configuring IIS.

If you could arrange the access to server to us, we could also do it for you - we offer this as extra service - JoomSEF Installation on IIS
