I just updated to version 3.5.5 and I have some questions to the com_search.

1) How can I exclude some categories from search results? (I put it into joomla's com_search, but that isnt working anymore and now there it is mentioned in news, that it should be possible). For example - I need to exclude categories with ID: 7,12, 19

2) I am using JoomFish, how can I restric JoomSEF search to only the active language?

1) Please, where did you put the categories IDs in com_search? I don't see such an option in com_search anywhere.

2) It should be possible in JoomFish's Search plugins' parameters. Go to Plugin Manager and you can set the "Active language only" in the Search - Jf... plugins (Search - Jfcontent, Search - Jfcategories, etc.)

to 1) I added to plugins/search/content.php a line for $where option AND catid IN (7,12,9)... and those categories are ignored in basic search. But after implementing Artio SEF, this was overwritten by Artio SEF search plugin.

I really need to restrict the search, because the search is now performed also in categories, where are just for other contet supporting articles.

Well there is no ARTIO JoomSEF search plugin, so I guess the JoomFish's search plugin is causing this - try adding your code to plugins/search/jfcontent.php also.
