TOPIC: Joomfish + Links component SEF issue

Joomfish + Links component SEF issue 15 years, 10 months ago #5809

Hi all,

1) I have a very strange issue with SEF using the Links component and Joomfish translation component.

It works perfectly for ALL languages we have installed (actually 9!) but for Russian... For some reason, the SEF links generated by Artio JoomSEF for each Link are missing the site domain name! (While to complete rest of the entire site works well in Russian). The whole result is, that none of the links works...

Instead of this correct path for one of the links:
www.mysite.com/link-category-name/link-t...-title-alias_ru.html

It generates this:
link-category-name/link-translated-title-alias_ru.html

2. The second issue is the SEF link for menu item of Links component category view.

Instead of this correct path (equal to other languages):
www.mysite.com/menu-name-alias/Links-category-name_ru.html

SEF generates this (for Russian only):
www.mysite.com/Links-category-name_ru.html

This second issue has obviously something to do with menu translations and it's names in Cyrilic alphabet. Anyway, for all items in the whole page (content, categories, menus - everything) in Russian i'm using the latin/english title aliases, which works properly but in case of Links component and Menu items... At least, i have no translations for each one of links, so their titles/SEF links are in Latin only, just with the language suffix.

Unfortunately, the Links component is not present in the "Component Configuration" list under JoomSEF general settings in Joomla back-end so I can't turn off or change the SEF handling of that component separately.

Could anyone help me with that issue?

Hello,

do you have defined correct non-ascii character translations in JoomSEF configuration for Cyrilic?
There are no default Cyrilic charaters definitions in JoomSEF, so you will need to add those manually.

Ok, it is the problem with the Cyrillic, you are right. I made my own replacement characters table for quick solution. Maybe there is some better one, but this also works (include the white spaces after the latest characters):

А|A, а|a, Б|B, б|b, В|V, в|v, Г|G, г|g, Д|D, д|d, Е|E, е|e, Ж|Zh, ж|zh, З|Z, з|z, И|I, и|i, Й|Y, й|y, К|K, к|k, Л|L, л|l, М|M, м|m, Н|N, н|n, О|O, о|o, П|P, п|p, Р|R, р|r, С|S, с|s, Т|T, т|t, У|U, у|u, Ф|F, ф|f, Х|Ch, х|ch, Ц|Ts, ц|ts, Ч|Ch, ч|ch, Ш|Sh, ш|sh, Щ|Sch, щ|sch, Ы|I, ы|i, Э|E, э|e, Ю|U, ю|iu, Я|Ya, я|ya, Ъ| , ъ| , Ь| , ь|

I am afraid there is no other solution than this.
The caracters need to be defined in this field.

What we can do is to add them to default installation so the other users using Cyrilic will have them predefined.
