SEO and mod_rewrite ARE enabled under Joomla Global config.

I have a small URL issue, the automatic URL generator always adds a /home/ to all my urls, I would like to get rid of that. I have looked to see if there are any rules for that in the .htaccess but nothing. I have also checked all the settings I could think of and stilll no luck.

Can you please help.

Current URL:
www.mysite.com/home/mypage

Required URL:
www.mysite.com/mypage

This may be removed in
JoomSEF / Manage Extensions / Content (or other componen if you use different type of conent for the page) and in the "Common" settings tab, make sure that "Use Menu Item Title" is set to No.

This is not in the joomla pages but in the virtuemart installation.
It adds a /home/ to all ietms in the shop.

It is the same case.
So change this in JoomSEF / Manage Extensions / VirtueMart.

After doing so, you need to purge existing URLs to let JoomSEF recreate them.

The "Use Menu Item Title" option lets you add menu title to URLs, so if you have eg. VirtueMart in menu named as "Shop", all your VirtueMart URLs will start with /shop/.
If you mean the Purge function, it moves all the automatically created SEF URLs to trash, so their SEF URL part may be recreated with the new settings.
