TOPIC: Extension parameters

Extension parameters 13 years, 10 months ago #19404

Hi, I am using Joomla 1.5.21.

Please can you advise the best handler for extensions that are not supported in JoomSef?

I have the following:
COM_AKEEBA - - Not using SEF
DJinstaller - - JoomSEF default handler
eXtplorer - - JoomSEF default handler
HTML MAP - - JoomSEF default handler
JCE - - JoomSEF default handler
Joomap - - JoomSEF basic rewriting
Mad4Joomla - - JoomSEF default handler
mtwMigrator - - JoomSEF default handler
Ninja RSS Syndicator - - JoomSEF default handler
Polls - - JoomSEF basic rewriting
swMenuFree - - Not using SEF
swMenuMaker - - Not using SEF
User Manager - - Not using SEF
Xmap - - JoomSEF default handler

I am getting lots of errors (eg. index.php/African-Attractions/African-Attractions/angola/lubango) and I am thinking maybe this has something to do with it?

Thanks.

Hello,

there is not an universal answer. It may vary from component to component.
E.g. components, that are running on backend only or are used by admins only, such as eXplorer - the best setting for those is "Not using SEF".
Guess, that DJinstaller will be similar. Same with JCE.

For other components, that actually do generate something, you can try JoomSEF default handler, or Joomla handler.

It seems, you are using some components with duplicate the function, such as Joomap and Xmap.

As regards URL index.php/African-Attractions/African-Attractions/angola/lubango - I am wondering what component is generating it? For sure, URLs starting with index.php are not created by JoomSEF handler.
