We have installed the virtumart extension and it is not doing anything. We have all the green lights on the bottom right of the control panel of the joomsef... We have cleared the cache... started with the home page and browsed every product page. we then went to administrator and updated the urls ...it showed 145 and then when you go back to the store it is not sef titles.

What am I missing? Someone please help..

could you paste here the link to your site?
Did you clean just JoomSEF cache or all caches? Including Joomla?

It could also be that some that the VM template/module you are using is not using the correct Joomla API (JRoute method). A brief visit of your site could tell more.

Anyway, if you see URLs in backend, then JoomSEF probalby is working right and the problem will be in frontend (displaying) part.

I can confirm it is not working as it should. I think there might be 2 separate problems:
1. the shop menu items are not SEF - this may be the menu module problem; is this some Rocket theme tempalte or similar? (I remember we have been solving similar problem with Rocket theme templates not making links from menu to VirtueMart categories SEF -- you should be able to find it in this forum history - there is a small patch needed in the menu module source code)

2. some product details URLs are okay, e.g. here:
kisnersbarbersalon.com/online-store/shave,
some are not, such as first link at
kisnersbarbersalon.com/index.php?option=...mid=53&TreeId=35

That is really strange and does not give much sense. It seems like the setting "Disable creation of new SEF URLs" in JoomSEF would be ON. Please check this. If it does not help, I would appreaciate if you could provide us with temporary login access to backend so we can check this.
