TOPIC: urls that just don't look right..

urls that just don't look right.. 15 years, 6 months ago #7223

Hi

I just installed Joomsef, but urls aren't looking too sharp.

an url like:

test.dk/kob-a-salg

generated from a menu named 'køb & salg'

I've added 'ø' to the non-ascii block.

The & I've added as well.

-

Then there's test.dk/planteviden/planter-og-fisk/eodea-uttaii.html

which is generated from the entry: elodea nuttallii

notice that the L's are missing.

It's like that for most my urls.

I haven't changed anything in the config.

I used to use sh404sef.
After uninstalling sh404sef I deleted the jos_redirection table, and the 2 other sh404sef tables.

What can I do?

Hello,

this is a bit strange... as I can see in the URL you have posted ...planteviden/planter-og-fisk/eodea-uttaii.html in the category and section name, there are "l" letters used normally.

The procedure for parsing those is same as for article names, so I guess the problem will not be inside JoomSEF.
I would make sure, that "l" letter in the "elodea nuttallii" is really "l" and not some other character. (check the ASCII codes). If it is really "l", then make sure, "l" is not configured to be stripped off the URLs in JoomSEF config.

That all that comes to my mind.

Thanks.

I went to sobi's sef extension, and removed all character's in the replacement box.

I think this did the trick!

thanks for you help Jan!
