ad 2) Yes, I've got cacheing on, and yes, I can confirm that the link is being created SEFed already.
The main problem is clearly the old links I've got in joomla somewhere that I can't find to remove. I went through every item on the main menu, and if they were a content item I could usually add a SEF link like from:
URL: index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=
In the menu panel to to
--> my_content_page.html
However some links aren't directly on the menu, and those are the ones I can't find to change.
The worst one I really want to fix yesterday is my landing page. Right now as soon as people log into my membership site they get a blank, white page because they are being redirected to content/view/5/6, which was once the name for a welcome page static content item but is now named by joomSEF.
Since the link to it on the main menu is showing up correctly and is working fine, the link that my login process is using simply isn't the same one. But where else could it be?
I've looked all through my global config, my CB config, and other places... I'm even searching the forum at Joomla.org... I can't find the landing page URL anywhere except when it's the top-most menu item, which it clearly isn't. (I suspect this is CommBuilder's fault but I've been over all those settings fifty times now...)
Anyway, this is one of many white screens, so maybe this isn't CB's doing. I'm just lost. Any clues?
2) I really need to get one of those special extensions, like you mentioned, to create the URLs like \"reviews/slug-name.html\" as it is first posted. Do you think that would be a quick and easy job that I could have someone do in a couple of days for a small price, or would it be a big job? The Guys over at MojoBlog have little to no experience with JoomSEF, so I kind of doubt they can create it any time soon.
Thanks,
Luke
