TOPIC: Just installed and configured but getting 404s

Just installed and configured but getting 404s 17 years, 1 month ago #3360

I have just installed and configured the component but when I go to my home page www.example.com/joomla and then click on any link it gives me the apache 404 error although if I hover over the link it gives me what looks like a correct url.

The old url: example.com/joomla/content/section/6/30/
The new url: example.com/apply/index.html

Is there any thing that may be missing?

Would it help to see either/both of the httpd.conf and .htaccess?

Thanks,

Dan

I had this prob aswell. I found if I delete .htaccess and turn off standard joomla seo, then install joomseo and let it make its own .htaccess it works ok. Make sure after install you turn on standard joomla seo in global configaration and enable joomseo in the components menu.

I tried this and I still have the same problem: 404 after I enable SEO and if I disable SEO then it's back to the original URL. Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

I have the same problem, but only when using PHP 5. If I use PHP 4, everything works fine.

Sadly I have no clue how to make it work under PHP 5.

I was having this problem. Then I went back to Global Configuration -> SEO -> then \"No\" for \"Dynamic Page Titles\"

This may or may not work for you.

Thanks for the tip!

After trying a number of things I finally got the home page to show up after disabling the Cache feature within the JoomSEF config.
