When you copy an article A , the copy (B) get the same URL as the original article (A)
After changing and saving the Title & Alias of the copy B, the URL is not changed, so that the original article A can not be retrieved anymore.
Why is the URL of the changed article B not updated?

The SEF URLs are not updated automatically, you first need to trash the old URL and clear the JoomSEF's cache so the URL can be recreated. Please read the JoomSEF's documentation for more information about the SEF URLs creation process.
