I set up a basic Joomla 1.5.15 site.
In Joomla Global Configuration I enable:
- SEF URLs
and
- Apache mod_rewrite
default Joomla .htaccess is available
I use meaningful alias names for menu items and articles
My URLs look great. In the style mysite.com/candies/chocolate
Beautiful.
Now I install JoomSEF (3.6.2) to take advantage of the advanced SEO stuff (metadata, sitemaps, adding the site name to all page titles automatically, 404 and so on)
The links are now messed. I get stuff like
which of course lead to nowhere (and I have no blog in my website, where did that come from?)
or
http://www.mysite.com/sms/blog
the base address is right, but I got no sms and no blog for sure.
I purge URLs, rebuild them... nothing.
I can't make sense of this. I was hoping I could completely disable JoomSEF URL management and just use its other features, since at least I am happy with the original URLs. Unless I can make sense of this.
