TOPIC: Can't rename .html file names using JoomSEF

Can't rename .html file names using JoomSEF 16 years, 11 months ago #3568

I've got a nice menu structure in place in my new Joomla based website with JoomSEF running fine.

The problem I have is reflecting file name changes made in JoomSEF to the site's menu structure.

For example, typography.html (Static Content) is a top level menu item with several submenu items. When I attempt to rename typography.html to, say, services.html using the JoomSEF Control Panel it creates a valid redirect but keeps typography.html as the top level menu link. Attempts to correct this using the Menu Manager have resulted in loosing the submenu items previously associated with typography.html.

I hope this is a GOTCHA but I'm struggling. Help much appreciated

Hello,

JoomSEF simply assigns to an original Joomla! URL (non-seo) a single SEO URLs.
This means that:
if you rename typography.html to services.html, it should be replaced everywhere where previously was typography.html...
unless:
1. it is not generated from the original non-SEO URL , but is entered somewhere manually
2. it stayed cached somewhere (JoomSEF cache, Joomla cache, browser cache)

Thanks. Fixed it.

Required me a think a little bit more about the problem (i.e. I was being a retard).

Cheers
