ok my joomla is in my root directory you can see my site at www. machinegamers .com i have installed the mod and then uploaded the default htacess.txt and then renamed it to .htacess and when i click on the links i get a 404 error as u can see im not the best with .htacess and im not sure what to do if u can reply here or contact me on msn josh_alexander50 at hotmail.com that would be great.

Try the FAQ. I also had the problems with 404 and didn't know that I have to uncomment RewriteCond and RewriteRule. After that, it is ok. I think that I haven't found any info on that in documentation of JoomlaSEF. I found out about that when I came to this site.

It is workin just fine, for now :)
