Hi, I'm trying to use the 301 redirect feature so that I can refer traffic from my google indexed pages to my new URLs but I'm having problems.

The old URL was for example:
www.example.com/old/old.htm

The new URL is now:
www.example.com/new.html

I've set up the 301 URL, but when I come in through the old URL it display a 404 and I notice the new URL is not how it should be, i.e it's:
www.example.com/old/new.html

Have I got something set wrong or is this a bug?

I can't simulate this behaviour on my test server. The only thing that comes to my mind is wrong RewriteBase set in your htaccess file. If you could give some real examples maybe it would help.
