TOPIC: stripping variables needed for magebridge

stripping variables needed for magebridge 13 years, 2 months ago #24549

I have the magebridge extension and when someone logs in an I have it configured to take the user to their account settings page after they login. If I turn joomsef off, this function works perfectly. If I turn joomsef on, this function no longer works. I spoke with magebridge support about this and they said the following:

Unfortunately it seems that JoomSEF is stripping all kinds of variables from the page, and therefor MageBridge "Remote Single Sign On" is not working properly. The variables "sso" and "magento_redirect" are stripped from the URL, so therefor the redirect is not working. It's best to ask JoomSEF for support on this.

Magebridge (yireo) is a huge endorser of your product and it was their recommendation that influenced me to buy and use joomsef.

I've tried going into the magebridge extension settings in joomsef and adding these variables to be filtered but that did not seem to help. Can you please help?

Hi,

Please make sure you've added the variables correctly. Open the MageBridge extension parameters from Manage Extensions page in JoomSEF and on the Common tab set "Custom non-SEF variables" to "sso;magento_redirect" (without quotes).
After this make sure to delete the already created SEF URLs for MageBridge from JoomSEF using Manage SEF URLs page, so they can be recreated with new configuration. Also make sure to clear JoomSEF's and Joomla's caches.

I had already tried that. It does not seem to work. Magebridge documentation says to set the extension to default joomla router. I tried that and "component's router" - both times I set those variables as you mentioned and cleared cache but the problem still exists. I do not see any urls pertaining to magebridge that I can delete. I assume its because of the "active handler" setting. Magebridge documentation says that using joomsef default handler is not optimal but yet with the other settings (mentioned above) it seems that joomsef is still doing things with the url. Setting the non-sef variables doesn't seem to help.

David, any luck here? I can give you access to a test environment if you'd like to see. Thanks for your help. Looking forward to figuring this one out.
