Hi, I havve noticed this on a few sites I run and only now decided to address it.

EG:
Product
bylong.com.au/ac-motor/product/show/315/...ac-motor-36-48v-275a

Also has generated the url:
curtis-700-series/product/show/315/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-36-48v-275a

Which is a different category (curtis-700-series) not associated with that product,

As well as:
home/product/show/315/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-36-48v-275a

These are products generated in Hikashop.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

The correct url is:
ac-motor/product/show/317/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-24v-350a

But there are a total of 16 with non-related categories at the start.
eg:

programmers-diagnostics/product/show/317/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-24v-350a
sepex-motor/product/show/317/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-24v-350a
power-tool-batteries/product/show/317/curtis-speed-controller-ac-motor-24v-350a

The added categories are for other non-related products.

What is the Active Handler for Hikashop in JoomSEF's Extensions Manager?

Hi Dajo,

Active Handler is JoomSEF basic rewriting. Seems to be a bit random which categories are picked up in the url.

Within one category listing there maybe many with correct category and then rando ones that have non-related category.

This happens across 6 joomla/hika site I managne with JoomSEF.

(With the huge growth in popularity in Hikashop, it would be good to get this to work properly as, IMHO, your product is better in many ways than the competitors - hint, hint ;)

Hi,

The first part of the SEF URL is menu item name. This problem is very difficult to address as it is caused by the inner workings of Joomla and problems in 3rd party components and modules.

Your options are:
1. Disable the Add menu title to URL option for Hikashop (so menu title won't be added to SEF URL)
2. Enable the Ignore multiple sources option for Hikashop (so only the first menu item found will be used)
3. Enable both the Exclude source info and Reappend source options in JoomSEF's Configuration on the Advanced tab (so the Itemid variable will be added to URL as non-SEF)
4. Try to find where exactly these URLs are generated and fix the modules and components that generate URLs with wrong Itemid
