Hello,

I setup a new Joomla 2.5. website. The joomsef isn't working. The installation is ok. I think that it has a conflict with an other component.

I use the extention for RSEvent. I also use Xmap for generating a page witha sitemap.
JoomSEF isn't displayed in the administrator menu. Under extattion manager I can see that JoomsEF is installed.

What can go wrong?

The fact that JoomSEF isn't displayed in the menu in Joomla means that there was some problem during installation. Try to uninstall JoomSEF and install it again. Check for any error messages that could be displayed during the installation.

I tried that allready, i cant install it on that moment. I get a message:



Download ID not set.
Installing component: Failed installation routine

Error at installing component.

It seems that there are some left-over data in your database.
First backup your website.
Then use phpMyAdmin or some similar tool to access your database, open the (prefix)_extensions table, find the record with type=component and element=com_sef and delete it.
Then you should be able to install JoomSEF again.

There was an update. It's working now.

The only thing is that I get strange urls gererated bij JoomSEF:
bedrijfvereniging/content/wat-kunt-u-doen/bedrijven

How can I get rid of the first part: bedrijfvereniging/content/
Content is a category.

Hi,

In JoomSEF's Content extension parameters check your settings for "Add categories to URL" and "Add menu title to URL" options. You may also use the "Exclude categories from article links" option to exclude specific categories.
