TOPIC: JoomSef Not Working for any of my components

JoomSef Not Working for any of my components 12 years, 3 months ago #32345

Hello,

I have purchased Joomsef for my site and nothing is working. When I turn SEF on for my site all the urls break. I can't access my articles page, the kunena forum, HWDvideoshare, hwdphotoshare. When my users log into my site they are redirected to the preferences page of their profile instead of there home profile and the easyblog component that I have installed doesn't work. Assistance would be greatly appreciated :) This seems like such a great component and I would love to use once its working properly.

Hi,

When you open Manage Extensions page in JoomSEF, what are the Active Handlers for those components? If it's "JoomSEF default handler" you should either download/purchase an extension for it, or select a different handler (try which one works the best for you).

You say that you can't access your articles, what exactly happens when you click some link? What do the URLs look like?

Its seem that once I turn on the SEF the urls change but the pages aren't displayed it says that url not found. I get a page error..I think its 404 error. If that makes since.

This is usually caused by wrong .htaccess file settings. Check that your .htaccess file contains correct RewriteBase directive and that there are rules for SEF URLs present. You can aslo try using default Joomla's .htaccess file - just rename the htaccess.txt to .htaccess in your website's root directory.
