Hey everyone I have a serious problem which is not only effecting my search engine rankings but has in fact seen most of my pages removed from the Google index due to this problem and all in all it is pretty simple to explain

Basically instead of JoomSef creating SEF URL's like domain.com/menu/category/articletitle (as it always has with no problem until now) it is instead creating them like domain.com/menu/category/menu/articletitle so as you can see it is placing the menu title twice in the URL which I cannot find any answer for and seems to be a very serious fault.

I am wondering if anyone has had this problem, knows what is causing it or can be of any help in solving this I thought it would be simple kind of like it is in Wordpress to change the layout of all SEF URL's but I cannot find any information on how to change the way it auto creates URL or am I missing something???

JoomSEF shouldn't add the menu item title twice to SEF URL. Could you please find an example of such URL in JoomSEF's URLs Manager and post the SEF URL and it's corresponding Real non-SEF URL? Thank you.

I know it is strange and I did finally manage to sort it out by playing with settings for hours and hours and even then I didn't manage to pinpoint what is was that was causing this and no setting seemed to related to the duplicate part in the SEF URL, I am only glad I managed to sort it before I put too many products up and started link building.

I do however have a backup somewhere where I should be able to pull all my SEF URL's so it may take a while but I'll try and get the examples you are looking for to see if you can figure the problem behind this out

I've noticed something funny that I can't figure out.

My articles are appearing the way I'd like. E.G., new.nextstl.com/urban-living/good-ideas-...on-videos-now-online

However, the blog category is not as I'd like. It is currently, new.nextstl.com/urban-living/blog/urban-living/blog. I'd like the blog category to appear as new.nextstl.com/urban-living/ or if necessary, new.nextstl.com/urban-living/blog.

I've a similar problem.
I've just updated the Joomsef version and my URL have changed, although I've not changed any settings:
Example in my forum:
Before the URL's were like this (page 11 before upgrading):
www.avi-plus.com/repair-tips-forum/misce...rfacing/page-11.html
Since yesterday, after having upgraded Joomsef (page 12):
www.avi-plus.com/categories/forum/forum/st40-stb71xx-jtag-interfacing/page-12.html

Just to be sure, I've reloaded the Joomsef settings before the upgrade (sql backup).
Nothing to do, the url generation have changed.
Could help me to recover the same url's as in page 11 i.e. changing the /categories/forum/forum as in page 11.

The URLs are created as domain.com/menu-title/category/subcategory/subcategory. You may remove the menu title by disabling the "Add menu title" option in Content extension parameters on the Common tab. You may change the way categories are added to URL in Content extension parameters on the Extension page.

What component are the URLs related to? Are they created by Kunena? Have you updated the Kunena component? What version do you use? Do you use Kunena extension for JoomSEF?
