We are using JoomSEF for years on a old Joomla 1.5 system and does his job well. Joomfish contains all translations.

We are currently working on a migration to J2.5 and VM2. All translations are migrated and copied the settings as from old JoomSEF 3. The URL's are looking good, exactly the same as old site, in 3 languages.
Only thing, the language switch returns to homepage of chosen language, not to the translated version of current page.

I have read a lot of topics here about this issue, and I did all settings I found in those topics. But still not working.

- Use Joomla's Multilingual feature
- Use different Menu's for each language
- Default Joomla language switch module
- Disabled Joomla language plugin
- Turn on JoomSef language management
- JoomSEF plugins on top of system plugins

Hi,

Your settings should be correct. The main thing is to enable "Menu Associations" in JoomSEF's Configuration, which you have. Then you just need to manually set up which menus correspond to each other in different languages - navigate to Joomla's Menu Manager, edit some menu item and you should see the Menu Item Associations box on the right side. There you can set which menu item corresponds to this one in different language.
You need to set this up for all menu items.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I made the menu assosiations and the language switch between menu items is working now.
But does not work on joomla articles and not on virtuemart pages (I installed JoomSEF Virtuemart component). These two thing does work on our old system very well by joomfish.

How can we achieve this working on our new multilingual website?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, this is not possible with Joomla's internal multilanguage system. You would need to use FaLang or JoomFish to achieve this.
