Installed Joomsef and I'm pretty new to this extension.

Unfortunatelly when I created some sef urls, instead of having a category URL like mysite.com/category/test-category or mysite.com/test-category, I would have mysite.com/test-category/test-category

I thought is best to disable Joomsef untill I figure out what is the problem, but I bumped in a bigger issue than this. With Joomsef disabled, now my URL-s have the article date added in them like mysite.com/parent-menu/2014-12-29-15-59-36/test-category

How I can get rid of the duplication( with joomsef enabled) and the date thing( with joomsef disabled) or the date thing as this is critical, I have put my website in maintenance mode. :(
