TOPIC: Sub level menus SEO url not working

Sub level menus SEO url not working 13 years ago #25926

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

We have just started using sub level menus and now URL for the main item has stopped working and I'm not sure what to use for the sub level items

Please see
www.escape-watersports.co.uk/?page=shop....ption=com_virtuemart

The old non-sef url used to be: index.php?option=com_virtuemart&category_id=34&page=shop.browse&
Item id 1

I have tried changing it to index.php?option=com_virtumart&category_id=34&sub=1&page=shop.browse& but that didn't work.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Many thanks
Claire

Hi,
Try checking your configuration in JoomSEF -> Manage Extensions -> VirtueMart -> Variables Filtering tab. Maybe the "sub" variable doesn't pass the filter and URL isn't SEFed.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me - I have checked the Variables filtering and there is nothing in the rules. Do I need to add a 'sub' rule?

Many thanks
Claire

That shouldn't be needed if you have "Accept only filtered variables" option disabled. But if it's enabled, you need to add the "sub" variable to "Filter variables" list (it doesn't to have any rule assigned).

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Have just checked and the 'Accept only filtered variables' is set to No.

Any other thoughts?

Many thanks
Claire

How did you add the sub variable to your menu item? Have you used the External Link menu item type? How exactly does your URL look like in your menu item?
