TOPIC: Selecting A Customer

Selecting A Customer 11 years, 9 months ago #37823

When creating a booking in the front end as a manager there isn't an option to select a customer and now the option to select the customer in the backend reservation has also disappeared, even though the message says you can press select to change the customer. I am also struggling to work out how you can alter the price based on customer type as offered on the website features list 'Rich price configuration options based on seasonal prices, volume discounts or customer types'.

Hello,

Admin can not create reservations in backend. This functionality will be implemented probably in next version (just in progress). He would be able to create reservations via frontend at the moment.

Seasonal prices can be set in Prices settings for every bookable item. You can set dates from and to for every price you add there.
Volume discounts are also included in Booking. Just check Volume Discount in Prices settings.
You can also set different prices for customer types. Just create 2 reservation types. One for adults and second for children. Every reservation type can have different prices.

I know you can't create a reservation in the backend, my question was about the Front End Reservation. At the moment if I am logged into the frontend as a manager and want to make a reservation for a client I will have to manually enter all of the details. There used to be an option in the free version that allowed you to edit the reservation in the backend and select from the customer database and it would enter all the details but this button has now disappeared as per my screenshot. It would be better if the select customer option was available to managers making reservations in the frontend from the beginning.

This feature was never included in frontend reservation form. I can add it as idea to our project management and we can wait if it will be approved. But there are still many other tasks with higher priority at the moment, so it can take a longer time.

But it used to be in the backend but now it is not, that is my biggest issue. Look at the original attachment and see what is missing. You seem to be answering all the supplementary questions and ignoring the key issue which is that there is meant to be a button to select customer and it is NOT THERE anymore!!!!

1. I am sorry, but fact is, that this button was never included in frontend reservation form (Or I don't know about it). And you are asking about frontend as you wrote in 2 posts. (But your attachement is from backend)
2. Another fact is, that creating new orders via backend was never included. We are preparing it for new version and it will be completely new feature.
3. Even if you claim that I am ignoring something, I already added this problem to our project management. Problem is, that our TODO list for Booking is so long, that it can take longer time for us to implement it.
