Actually, I'm having the same problem again and now "Ignore Multiple Sources" isn't solving it like it did before. Can you explain what you mean by "Guess Itemid" because I can't find that anywhere.

We upgraded to Joomla but kept our shop on the old site. The new site became www.abc.com, the old site became www.xyz.com.

On the new Joomla site I have a menu link to the shop pointing to www.xyz.com/shop.

However, we are still getting hits to www.abc.com/shop. Is there any way I can use JoomSEF to redirect those to www.xyz.com/shop instead of generating a 404 error?

The problem is when I create a custom redirect it asks for an old non-SEF url that starts with index.php, but right now I just have a menu link pointing to an external URL (www.xyz.com/shop).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Update: Nevermind, I just added a mod_alias rule to .htaccess and that solved the problem.

On almost all pages on my site I have menus appearing in the left position. I turn JoomSEF on and everything is fine - except once I turn JoomSEF on, any new content item I create will have my menus missing from the left position, even though the menu modules are set to display on those items.

Proof of concept, turning JoomSEF off causes the left menus to display again for the new content items. Turning it on again causes left menus to disappear from my new content items.

I've tried deleting the URL from the JoomSEF backend - it doesn't do anything.

What's the solution? My specs:
