Yes it can be quiet in here but there are some that can help. For the most part, every version of JoomSEF, I have been able to sort out issues and get it running. Frustrating as it may be sometimes. ;-) So maybe it is quiet because people aren't looking for help that much.

-2 problem is related to the link source itemID. I will be the first to say I am not an expert and I don't understand it completely, but what I think happens is if you have different menus pointing to a page, Joomla has functionallity to identify where the link comes from, so it can trigger mosPathway (breadcrumb links) and related modules to be displayed. I also think is has something to do with the first URLs it reads and builds. I recently had the problem of one link with -2 at the end, and what I did was delete all SEF URLs, cleared my cache and 404 errors and then went to the homepage of my site and it built the URLs again. I had to do that process twice before I cleaned out the -2 address.

I am interested to here if I am anywhere close to correct.

I use the JoomSEF component on three sites. I have two older versions working well, but I am having a little trouble with a new third site. Here is what I have: Joomla 1.0.13, Artio JoomSEF 2.2.4 with Artio VirtueMart extension 1.1.3. The main problem I am having is that the main menu sublevel and pathway don't always show correctly, unless I add the ItemID as a query at the end of the URL. Then everything works perfect except I end up with duplicated pages with different ItemID's.

What is the best way to correct this problem? I did try the Extended Menu module and still had pathway issues. Is there an ideal setup combination to help me? The site is still under development, but you can see the problem at http://www.intellectiveweb.com

I fixed my problem. It turned out the htaccess file had not been updated after installing the ARTIO JoomSEF component. My Joomla! core SEF Section was uncommented and the 3rd Party SEF section was commented out. Below is what it should look like (in the two sections mentioned).

I am having the same problems. I will try turning things off and turning them on again.
