Nevermind. The Open-SEF folks are much quicker to help out.

I'm still wondering about this...

So can Open-SEF and ArtioSEF live in harmony?

Thanks.
I'd like to try it out. Can we decide which items to ignore and which are fine?
It seems like there ought to be another way of passing the variable instead of in a url, that way everyone can be happy.
I can perfectly understand the use of itemid, but if if causes multiple duplicate links, then it is a problem for a whole lot of people.

I am using MJ Frontpage for custom frontpage content and it is working just fine.
Your issue might not have so much to do with Artio as it does with Joomla. Joomla will automatically put the first link in mainmenu as the default page of the website. Artio will then rewrite the frontpage as being either "/" or "/index.php".
That is just how it is. To get other content on the front page that is dynamic, try mycontent to put what ever News stories you want there.
Otherwise, duplicating com_frontpage is your only other choice.

It occurs to me that the problem is caused by the same content being called by two different components.
The ID's are fine, but the itemid is what is causing the error. In this case it is com_frontpage and com_newsflashes serving the content.
Is there a way to have Artio only create a SEF url using the ID variable?

This doesn't seem like a com_frontpage issue. That component is placed with the mosMainBody() tag.
Your situation sounds more like a artio database entry. you should delete your previous entries for those links and recreate them. It ought to work.
or have you tried that already?

Is it possible for me to have a GigCal url to read /calendar/blah.htm instead of /gigcal/blah.htm by default? It would be impossible to change this for every single url (month, day etc).

Hello,
I am having problems getting SEF links to jive well. Here is the situation:
I have one News item, from the front page I get this link:
index.php?Itemid=9&id=18&option=com_content&task=view which gives me the link "blog-2.htm"
From the main News page (not from the front page) the link is:
index.php?Itemid=75&id=18&option=com_content&task=view which I have to be iedSpotlight8.htm.
These are the same content, but I cannot duplicate links, so I they cannot read the same.
How can I remedy this situation? I know I can insert my own link in the preview and disable the component link, but there will people less technical than myself editing content. I want to make things as simple as possible for eveyone.
Thanks again!<br><br>Post edited by: gmarez, at: 2007/01/03 21:35
