TOPIC: Installing vminvoice over existing installation

Installing vminvoice over existing installation 11 years, 10 months ago #36632

Hi,

I'm trying to install the Artio invoice component on my existing Virtuemart website. The website already uses ENYcreations invoice component and when I try to install the Artio component it uses (almost?) the same database tables and directories. What is the best way to install the Artio component without losing all my old invoices? Even better, is there a way to integrate the old invoices from ENYcreations into the new Artio environment?

Thanks!

Hi,
you are right, it uses almost same tables, because ENYcreations based their code on one of the previous VM Invoice version at certain moment.

From that reason, the installation of both at same time may be complicated if not impossible.
Anyway, solving such problem is out of range of this support.

My recommendation is to archive the existing tables, remove the ENYcreations component and install VM Invoice.
As the invoice data self are loaded from VM you will also be able to generate invoices for the old orders. (just - logically - in appearance these may differ from invoices previously generated by ENYcreations in some details; but the items and sums should be correct)

Thank you for your response. I've uninstalled the ENYcreations version and installed the Artio version and it works now. I had to remove the database tables and language files manually and had to clear the cache to make it work though.
