I'm on the paid version and get strange numbers and letters that seem to be 'injected' randomly in the cached version of the files. Sometimes the numbers/letters dissappear but on a new cache they appear. The positioning of them is completely random, it's not like a character encoding issue or a conflict. Please help..

Dear gav,

These characters appear sometime when there is choosed download method "Create connection over socket".
Try to change download method to another and refresh pages, please.

Which method would you recommend to be the most stable out of the four options? Can you explain the pros and cons of each?
Thanks

Hello gav,

Quick overview:

1) file_get_contents - Very simply. The good choice. Unfortunately, it is disabled at most servers.

2) socket - Simply, quick. This establishes connection standard way. Unfortunately, sometime appears strange characters on the cache pages.

3) CURL - Robust and secure. Slightly slower. There must be installed CURL extension for PHP on server.

4) Direct Method - We don't recommend it. It creates new instance application and cath its output. This method is aimed for servers which don't have permission to making loop-back requests.

I recommend you file_get_content if possible, or CURL.
