yes, it should produce an error message in such case.
Based on your post in the other thread, I would guess the problem is really in cache, as you write that just some single page includes the signature.

JoomSEF generates the signature either on every page or nowhere.

All of my pages has "Joomla SEO powered by JoomSEF".

Can't remember that I said it only appear in some pages.

Cache is also disabled for JoomSEF and Joomla.

In that case, you have free version installed instead of paid.

If the online process does not work for you (although I do not see any reason for that - if you have check all the file permissions correct)y, you can uninstall the current version completely (so nothing remains, except the DB table to maintain your existing URLs), download the latest paid version and install from scratch.
