I use a static content item for my homepage however if I enable JoomSEF it fails to load the content and displays:

"The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu. "

Just installed JoomSEF on two of my sites and was delighted -- it seemed to work perfectly "out of the box". Then I noticed the same problem described in this thread.

I use a static content item as my homepage on both sites (www.cjwriting.com and www.imageinvitations.com) -- one works, the other doesn't...!

Problem is as follows:

On www.imageinvitations.com with JoomSEF enabled the mainmenu "home" link is redirected to the correct content item with a URL reflecting the content title.

However, any link directing to "index.php" (i.e. if you type www.imageinvitations.com into your browser address bar to access the site) returns the "page you are trying to access does not exist" message.

Strangely this seems to work perfectly on my www.cjwriting.com site that is set up in exactly the same way.

Any ideas?

In version 1.3.0 the problem remained tha same with message

"The page you are trying to access does not exist.

Please select a page from the main menu. "

if the home page is a static page.

The problem to be resolved is redirecting from www.somehere.com/ to www.somehere.com/myhomepage.html
