TOPIC: Joomla 1.5.5 & Artio SEF 3.1.2 Does Not Work

Re:Joomla 1.5.5 & Artio SEF 3.1.2 Does Not Work 16 years, 3 months ago #4612

another example is I was using WordPress for my blog but switched the posts over to use Joomla instead.

The old post URLs such as www.interactiveonline.com/blog/2007/08/0...ning-windows-repair/ do not work as expected, but they do not return the frontpage (according to my artio settings) or the correct 404 page.

I was under the impression I could create custom redirects for the old URLs using Artio SEF under "View/Edit
Custom Redirects" or "View/Edit SEF Urls " but it says the old URL must begin with index.php

Is there any way for me to use Artio to forward old URLs to new one's... URLs that are not associated with Joomla such as my old WordPress links?

If not does anyone know of the best way to accomplish this? For the above URL I could create the following folder /blog/2007/08/02/windows-updates-do-not-install-after-running-windows-repair/ then upload an index.htm file to that folder with a META REFRESH to the new page.

Is this the best way to accomplish this? Can I accomplish this instead using Artio or another method?

Ok I see I can redirect an old URL to a new URL using the "View/Edit 301 Urls " section within artio.

One thing I notice is if I am using a directory for SEF such as interactiveonline.com/solutions or interactiveonline.com/blog if someone tries to access a page within those directories that does not exist it does not take them to the frontpage as I have the 404 configured to do so within artio.

A non-existant page outside of those folder such as interactiveonline.com/some-page.htm does work correctlyl and takes the viewer to the frontpage but interactiveonline.com/blog/some-page.htm or interactiveonline.com/solutions/some-page.htm does not. Instead it takes them to some generic "404 - Article #0 not found" page.

Any ideas as to how I can get this fixed?

Hello,

The problem is, that when JoomSEF does not found the URL in its database, it tries to parse it using the default Joomla's router. In some cases, this default router shows the Joomla's 404 page. We'll try to figure this out in future version.
