Hi all.

I have installed the SEF component and purchased the virtuemart plugin.

However, please see 82.110.105.90/rickslivefood.co.uk/

The links look ok but when you click on them there is an error.

I replaced my htaccess content with that shown in the user guide.

Please advise why this is not working as I want it fixed ASAP.

Dear Gary,

after fast checking your site in question, I would guess you have wrongly configured your RewriteBase drective in your .htaccess file.
For your current site, it should be /rickslivefood.co.uk/.

Thanks I am looking now but after doing what you said the whole site is down.

I have replaced the .htaccess with what was there before and the site is still gone so I am really not happy.

it should be just
RewriteBase /rickslivefood.co.uk/
not # RewriteBase /rickslivefood.co.uk/
(as you wrote us in your email)

the # means the line is commented and thus not in effect.
If you are unsure what you are doing, I would advise you to get a paid support from us and send us the access info for your site and our admins will set what is needed. We of course will try to advice you even if you not decide to go for it, but that way may be faster and more comfortable for you.

our admins checked your site and it works fine now.

The problem was in the server - by uncommenting the line „Options FollowSymLinks“ in .htaccess it stopped to work, as your web server does not support this directive. PHP does not run here as Apache module, but in CGI mode instead, so some features may not be available.
