The creation of the charts and implementation in the articles worked like a charm. The only problem I´m facing is a conflict with a picture gallery that opens in a lightbox: The charts overlay the lightbox. Are there any other settings or modifications possible to solve this?

I think the problem provide image on background of chart. Chart is transparent but image no. Try without image.

I created another new chart without any background image and still the same result. I think the best solution will be to avoid the lightbox on the pages with charts...

There is one file: administrator\components\com_artiofusioncharts\helpers\helper.php
with these two rows (around 633 row):

$js .= 'chartObj.render("' . $secondaryID . '");' . PHP_EOL;
$js .= 'chartObj.addParam("wmode", "opaque");' . PHP_EOL;

If you swap them, it could probably help you. You need wmode before render flash.
