Hey, I'm VERY KEEN on looking into using E-Tickets on our site.

At the moment we have a customised version of VirtueMart using PIN Codes and then a home built "Validation" page, but this has a few issues which I'm hoping Artio E-Tickets may well resolve.

I understand that E-Tickets uses Virtuemart for its order processing system, one of the issues with VirtueMart is that order emails are sent out BEFORE payment has been made, which causes some confusion. Does this still happen, or is VirtueMart used only for Payment?

Am I correct in assuming any VirtueMart payment modules can be used?

There are a couple of features which I'm wondering are being considered:
1) Auto Admission - At the moment, after playing with the demo, it would appear that when admitting tickets, the employee needs to scan the ticket, then click on the "Confirm" button - Ideally We would rather that they only need to scan the ticket, and as long as it's valid then automatically record it as "used" but then give them an "undo" button for the last scanned ticket.
2) Better Visual Feedback - Ideally it would be better when scanning tickets, that "Valid" tickets have some sort of green prompt for the staff to quickly see without having to read the screen, and perhaps Red for any tickets which fail validation.
3) Lookup by name - There are always going to be cases where customers forget their tickets before coming to the venue - Being able to search for the name on the ticket validation screen would be handy
4) Current Admission Status - Our venue is a nightclub, and we have a maximum occupancy at any time. For the number of admitted ticket holders, we need to know how many have been redeemed so that we can calculate how many additional customers we can admit. Having a "status" screen with the number of Sold Vs Redeemed tickets so that staff can easily see the current admission status.

I am very pleased with your interest.

VM eTickets uses VirtueMart for selling tickets. So Ticket is a VM product. It means, you can buy it like a normal product. But there are two ticket types - DOWNLOADABLE & GIFTBOX. Giftbox is normal product, which is send by post. Downloadable is ticket, which user can download and print at home(this is a VM functionality). All ticket types are downloadable, giftbox is optional. So it works this way, that user get confirmation email after checkout and download id is sent after payment.
Yes you can use all VM payment modules, because checkout is catered by VM.

1.) Actually its not supported. But you can use eg. hand stamp.
2.) I think it can be modified by Joomla style.
3.) There is a front-end page with orders, so you can search orders by customer name.
4.) you can see in administration (product detail), how many tickets still left.

If you will want some special modification, we are able to customized it to your requests.

Hello, Andeh,

1.) Yes, the current version is developed for Joomla 1.5 only. This days we are working on new version developed under Joomla 1.7. The new version will be completely new component without any connection to VirtueMart.

2.) Yes the barcodes are compatible with most of the barcode readers. The barcode readers works similar to keyboard, Usually fill the numbers in the input field and press enter. So there is no installation or settings to work with the component.

Would the 1.7 plugin be included if we were to purchase the product now, or would it need to be purchased separately when released? And do you have any idea of when it may be released?

Hello,

The new VMeTicket for Joomla 1.7 is completely new component (not only update), so it will be sold as separate product. Probably, we'll give better price for customers that already bought the VMeTickets for Joomla 1.5, but not completely free.
