i installed JoomSEF (paid version) and i have some problems
After installing i activate in the joomla configuration
- search friendly URLS -> YES
- use mod_rewrite -> YES

in the JoomSEF configuration i active the component

Now i have the following problems

1. in the browser title the homepage name is named twice
2. on the first menuitem "news" no titel is shown on the browser titel bar or on the url
3. i have menuitem "sound-ecke" with an sub menuitem "hiphop", i entered the link manually in the custom redirects in JoomSEF

index.php?option=com_muscol&view=search&search=albums&genre_id=2&Itemid=152

and the SEF URL

sound-ecke/hiphop

but the url is the same like bevor :/

4. in the JoomSEF i select "Titel-Alias" in the config "use titel alias?" but the titel alias is not used :/

The homepage is test.sound-ecke.de

ad 1-2 -- behaviour how page title is composed can be configured in JoomSEF plugin settings. You will find it in list of plugins among "system" plugins. It has automatic detection of duplicate page title. So if you have that on and it still shows twice, it can be overriden in some other component / plugin or in template. (try to switch off other plugins and make sure the title is not overriden in template or elsewhere)

ad 3) - did you clean cache after adding this URL? what is the setting in JoomSEF configuration for com_muscol component. (it will not work, if there is other setting then "default" handler)

1-2) i changed in the plugin these parameters:
Use sitename in page titles: NO
Sitename separator: |

nothing changed.

but the sitename is shown twice only on the start site. But the startsite has ne name "news" and not sound-ecke.
on all other pages first the sitename is shown and then the category name - thats ok.
EDIT: Ok problem solved :) i had to go to the News menuitem and changed the Systemparameters. There was a parameter for site title and this field was empty. i changed it to "news" and not it is shown correct.


3) yes i clean the cache. the setting for the com_muscol component ist on default.
i use the url that is shown in the browser, starting with index.php.

i used sh404sef bevor. is this maybe a problem? i uninstalled it and followed the tutorial which i found in this forum. the table redirection was deleted. But maybe there is another problem?

ad 4) It works for me. Maybe you didn't fully understand how it works. When you set an alias (e.g. for article there is a textbox Alias under Title) and Purge URLs, this alias is used in URL.

hm..maybe i dont understand it correct, yes.

So i have a menuitem "sound-ecke" the alias of this menuitem is "genre". Now i would like to see in the url "genre" and not the title "sound-ecke"
so i changed the setting in joomsef in "use titel alias" and purge URLs (this means delete them, correct?) but in the url is always the "sound-ecke" instead of "genre"

another short question:
What is with the system -sef plugin (joomla plugin) can i disable this plugin?

try this: Add 2 same items in the menu (2 same, not 1 and an alias). In JoomSEF configuration set Ignore multiple sources (Itemids) to No. Purge URLs and go to View/Edit SEF Urls. Find your menu items and set SEF url whatever you like.
It works, I tried it. I hope I understood you correctly and you want 2 URLs pointing to same page.

And no, you shouldn't disable that plugin. It is essential for running JoomSEF.
