TOPIC: redirecting *.aspx to new directory

redirecting *.aspx to new directory 14 years, 1 month ago #14939

I am ready to launch the new website I just created and I want to make sure all the old pages are redirected to the new Joomla equivelant locaiton.

How do I redirect

site/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx
to
the home directory or another article?

I tried using 301 redirect but it gave me an error 404 page (and not the 404 page that JoomSef creates).

Thanks in advance for the help...

Hello,

.aspx extension is not handled by Joomla's .htaccess file by default, so you need to either modify your .htaccess file to handle it, so JoomSEF can redirect it, or you will need to set the redirects in the .htaccess (you can use the Edit .htaccess page in JoomSEF).
