TOPIC: Keep old URLs after changing

Keep old URLs after changing 14 years, 2 months ago #14620

I have a site where items are often moved from one category to another, for example exhibition items are moved from 'upcoming' to 'exhibitions', and then later to 'past'.

I would like the old links to redirect to the new links automatically - is this possible?

For example:
mysite.com/exhibitions/upcoming/show1
will eventually become
mysite.com/exhibitions/show1
and then
mysite.com/exhibitions/past/show1

Is there a way for all of those links to point to mysite.com/exhibitions/show1, or to redirect somehow so that they all work?

I have:
JoomSEF 3.5.5
Joomla 1.5.15

Thanks very much!

Hello,

Unfortunately, this is not achievable automatically using JoomSEF. It would probably need some custom modifications of the component you use for the items. We could such modifications for you, but it would be a paid service. The price would depend on the complexity of the needed changes, the base pricing is available at: www.artio.net/e-shop/support-services

Thanks, but I should be able to sort something out myself.
