we've update joomsef to 3.6.6 lately and by that action all the SEF urls and including keywords where gone.

The update was done by the back-end control panel.

I had to purge purge the SEF urls to make them working again. so that is why it probably updated also the keywords. only the ones that where locked stayed.
keyword rewrite was enabled.

is this a common thing? should i lock all my SEF urls to save them for next update. or did we make a procedure fault..

I also like to know if there is any kind of "backup"Joomsef or did we lost a few days of work on the meta tags?

I'm sorry to hear that. This is very strange, because in the upgrade from 3.6.5 to 3.6.6 there was no change in the database. Anyway, no URLs or meta tags should ever be lost during an upgrade.

To backup your URLs you can easily Export them to a file using the Manage SEF URLs page.

i can only see the import button :(

There are two selection boxes and the Proceed button in the toolbar - use the first one to choose only selected URLs or all filtered, use the second one to choose the Export action, and click the Proceed button.

Can we say that by purging sef urls the keywords are also gone?
