TOPIC: Home Page Modules Showing on 404 Page

Home Page Modules Showing on 404 Page 13 years, 9 months ago #20287

I am using Joomla 1.5 and JoomSEF 3.76 and am using an uncategorised article with the show Joomla! template option set to yes. I am using RocketTheme's Crystalline template. The problem is that it loads all my home page modules when it loads the 404 page and that's not appropriate for my 404 page is there a setting I am overlooking to just use the template but not load the home page modules.

Thank you for your assistance,

Mark

Hello,

Try creating a "fake" menu item - call it whatever you like, and set it as Unpublished, so it is not visible in your menu. Then set all your modules not to be visible on this menu item. Finally, in JoomSEF's configuration on the 404 Page tab, enable "Use Itemid for Default 404 Page" option and select your "fake" menu item in the "Select Itemid" list.
This way you can control which modules are visible on your 404 page.

Best regards,
